Gym for Joy is Multi-Sport’s gymnastic programme that was established in 1983 and caters for pre-school children aged 3 through to the advanced gymnast.

The strength, co-ordination, agility and flexibility obtained in our Gym for Joy programme has life lasting benefits and there is a great deal of carry over skill into other sports.

Gymnastics is an invaluable start to any child’s education. All the basics are covered with an emphasis on floor work, beam, trampette and vaulting (box) in a safe and stimulating environment. The programme follows the Gym for Joy gymnastic badge award scheme. The systematic and structured awards cater for the 3 year old beginner to the advanced gymnast. As children progress through the awards we aim to develop their bodies, minds and characters.

Gymnastic competitions and parent interactive lessons are organised so that gymnasts have the opportunity to demonstrate the routines and skills acquired during lessons.

IMPROVER

Class Focus:

5-7 Yrs (Achieved Badge 4 & 5)

A more disciplined approach to gymnastics is adopted.  As more skills are acquired, gymnastic routines are developed.  The strength, co-ordination, flexibility and agility developed at this skill hungry age will have a lasting effect throughout life.  There is a tremendous carry over of skill from gymnastics into other sports and activities.

Once gymnasts reach this level they will be introduced to the exciting discipline of tumbling.  Using our 10 metre Air-track and our 15 metre Tumble-track, gymnasts can safely learn moves such as flick flacks, hand springs, aerials and tumbling routines.
